REG; Enabling the Transport Sector to Succeed. Suzy Ratahi, Timaru District Council

The Road Efficiency Group (REG) continues to build on the One Network Road Classification and data quality work to enable more consistent levels of service, a better understanding of each RCA performance and more evidence based investment business cases to be developed.
The ONRC system used for the 2018/21 National Land Transport Programme (NLTP) is being enhanced to create a One Network Framework (ONF) for the 2021/24 NLTP development. Coupled with the REG business excellence, asset management competency, data quality frameworks and new RCA performance reporting is enabling an increase in investor confidence across the transport sector through changing the way decision making is made.
All aspects of the REG programme are developed under a co design – co delivery model supported by evidence.
This presentation will focus on how the REG Focus 2021 programme is helping the sector to succeed and will consider;

  1. The Focus 2021 programme
  2. What REG is focused on during 2020
  3. Where REG will focus during 2021

Suzy, Chair of the REG Leadership Group has been involved in local government for eight years with a further eight years experience in the contracting industry prior.  This has resulted in having a practical based approach to solution resolution.
Suzy enjoys the challenge of balancing customer expectations with the understanding the ability to pay for the appropriate level of service.
Once an early challenger to the REG program, Suzy now understands the need for the outcomes that are being achieved through the REG work program.  While the agile development style that is being achieved through the cross sector partnership that is REG can be challenging, it demonstrates a true collaborative approach to realising enduring excellence.
